I worked closely with Penrallt Garden Centre, one of the largest garden centres in West Wales, providing a comprehensive marketing service.
To improve on their current online social presence, I created new profiles on the main social media channels which greatly improved their customer communication and social interaction. Managing these social media profiles on a daily basis, I consistently promoted and boosted interest in their vast range of seasonal plants, sundries and popular café. I focused on delivering strong visual images to connect with their customer base, providing many photographs in order to widely promote their business online. Tapping into an enthusiastic local community on Facebook, I drew attention to their new social presence by creating relevant Facebook giveaways with a seasonal theme, which generated much activity and greatly increased followers.
Working on improving their online presence, I also refreshed their website, within the limits of the existing structure, enhancing pages with new visual content and creative copy. I added a news blog to their site, and posted several times a month, delivering regular new content to encourage longer online use of the site, and to provide additional content for the monthly newsletters. Adding new products onto their website when required and supporting widely on social media channels, I also provided visual ideas for local media advertising.
To improve brand loyalty, and boost membership support, I reorganised their existing newsletter set-up by launching a new MailChimp-based system which provided far greater control over their data and marketing efforts. I created regular monthly newsletters that included seasonal news, new product information, articles and giveaways, with relevant links to their website, and occasional newsletters for seasonal events in their café, sharing widely on social media.
To promote the local strengths of the business online, I connected Google My Business which ensured a clear online presence with full contact details in Google Search and Maps. Responding to the reviews and managing the content ensured a high position amongst competitors in the local search online. I also took over an unmanaged TripAdvisor page, supplying relevant visual content and information as required, and responding appropriately to each published review. I shared published reviews widely on social media, and encouraged customers to leave reviews, and together with a consistent management response on TripAdvisor, raised their profile sufficiently to receive their very first TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence Award.
